Tina T’s Tamla Motown Night Returns to Blackheath

By the middle of October, the evenings are getting darker and summer suddenly feels like a very long time ago. But that doesn’t mean every Friday night needs to be surrendered to the sofa.

Sometimes what you need is a proper night out.

The kind where you get dressed up, gather your favourite people, enjoy a good dinner and spend the rest of the evening singing and dancing to songs everyone already knows.

On Friday 16th October, Tina T’s Tamla Motown Night returns to The Clarendon Hotel in Blackheath for a spectacular evening of live Motown, soul and entertainment – with special guest Oli Arlotto joining her on saxophone.

Live Motown Made for the Dance Floor

Some songs only need a few opening notes before the whole room knows exactly what’s coming.

Marvin Gaye. Diana Ross. Smokey Robinson. Martha Reeves. The Temptations. Stevie Wonder. Tina Turner. The O’Jays. Tina T’s show is packed with the timeless tracks that have been filling dance floors for generations – and they haven’t lost any of it.

These aren’t songs designed to sit quietly in the background. They’re the ones that get people singing across the table, tapping their feet under it, and heading straight for the dance floor the moment the music starts.

Tina T (as seen on BBC One’s ‘All Together Now’) knows exactly how to bring those Motown and soul classics to life. Add Oli Arlotto’s live saxophone into the mix and you’ve got a show full of brilliant music, big energy and the kind of atmosphere that spreads quickly through the room.

Three-Course Dinner Before the Show

The evening starts with a three-course dinner in the Meridian Restaurant, giving you plenty of time to relax and settle in before the dancing begins.

Expect warming autumn flavours, a generous main course and something sweet to finish – with vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options available. There’s time to eat properly, catch up with your table and enjoy the occasion before the plates are cleared and the music takes over.

The Perfect Excuse to Get Everyone Together

October can feel like the quiet stretch between the end of summer and the start of Christmas. Tina T’s Tamla Motown Night is a very good excuse to make more of it.

Arrange the catch-up that keeps getting postponed. Celebrate a birthday. Plan a date night. Or just bring your friends together for an evening that involves more than one quick drink before everyone heads home.

Motown works across generations because the music simply doesn’t go away. Some guests will remember these songs from the first time around, while others know them from films, family parties and playlists. Either way, it doesn’t usually take long before everyone’s singing along.
