Catering for wide variation in customers' needs and taste is an art form in itself. Few do in well. The Clarendon has been successfully organising and serving banquets and buffets for many years in its several function rooms, and the dedicated staff are highly trained to help with the arrangements.

Civil Wedding Ceremonies at The Clarendon Hotel

The Clarendon Hotel is proud to announce that we are now an approved premises by Lewisham Council for Civil Marriages. Many happy couples have celebrated their weddings in style at the Clarendon. We have helped to host all their parties, receptions and banquets, and our experience ensures that whatever the occasion for celebration your reception will be problem free.

For the ceremony itself the hotel offers a choice of either the Heathview or Regency Suites. The Regency Suite can accommodate 50 guests, and the Heathview Suite 20 guests. The Regency is a luxurious and well-appointed suite which overlooks its own private patio area. Suitable for both formal and informal functions, the Regency has its own bar facility.

The Heathview Suite is suitable for small dinner parties, providing a more intimate atmosphere. As its name implies, the Heathview offers guests a panoramic view of Blackheath, from All Saints Church to the gates of Greenwich Park, beyond.

At the back of the Hotel, the discreet walled garden is landscaped to provide the perfect backdrop for Wedding Photographs, and obviously where weather permits, the party can extend onto the lawns.

This really is a wonderful extension to any function, and is particularly impressive when lit during the evening.  No hotel is complete without the provision of Honeymoon Suites, and the Clarendon's are outstanding. Newly decorated, beautifully appointed and refurbished, they have a separate lounge and feature a four-poster bed with turned wooden posts and net curtains,- something to dream about, and remember warmly for years afterward.

Our Banqueting Manager is always on hand to assist in the formalities and help the proceedings go according to plan.

Services provided free of charge as facilities for all Civil Wedding Ceremonies at The Clarendon Hotel include a Dedicated Banqueting Manager, an area for photographic purposes, Bar facilities (if available), a flower arrangement in the Reception suite for the ceremony.
These elements, along with an evening Disco and Buffet can be arranged separately and tailored to suit your requirements.

The spacious Meridian Room, which comfortably seats 150 guests overlooks the gardens and provides the ideal location for a Wedding Breakfast.
